Ok, all topics and threads have been moved to Elysium Blue (http://www.thefmp.com/elysium/). If you didn't have an account there and you had at least a post here your account was transferred to EB, unfortunately your password could not be recovered so you will have to use the "I forgot my password" link on the login page to make a new pass.

I have been quite busy with schoolwork (loads of tests... and next week, already midterms! ack!), and I tend to put my schoolwork ahead of these things (sorry to disappoint anyone 'bout that, but at least I have my priorities straight, unlike you bums on the forums  ). Plus, to top it off, I've been having trouble getting people to come to Steel Warrior, because lately it has... lacked. I can code much better than I did before, but I don't get much time to code, so I code lame-ass things like bug fixes, and don't have time for any big projects. Expect Greentail to be seriously expanded during the springtime (during spring break), and during the summer.
I am struggling to get a release of Greentail, because Ozzy out of the blue decided he was going to get pingu to release his 'official' (it is NOT official. GSD doesn't endorse it. GSD only endorses Elysium Blue.) Elysium forums. Pingu plans to release Elysium. They continue to copy and post all of the tutorials from this board. Not that I mind, but if any of you here have any objections to your tutorials being posted there, feel free to say so and I'll have a talk with Ozzy or Pingu to get rid of them. (Probably Ozzy. I'd rather not talk to Pingu.. like.. ever, to prevent the fight from starting back)
Now I'm sure some of you right now are like 'OMGWTFBBQ THAT GUY PINGU STARTED UP A n000beeeeee333 ELYSIUM! HE RIPS! HE GO DOWN! WE T00 COOL!!!!'. Don't feel this way, because this is what I wanted Pingu to do in the first place, but instead he threw a fit and just shut down his site. Good job, Pingu (not in a sarcastic tone), good to see your community back and doing things.
The downside to all this, is we now have 3 communities, two of them claiming they are official (I see a fight in the near future.. damn this mess. Damn it all to hell  ), and one broke off from Elysium (us). The problem: This puts pressure on Elysium Blue to release a version, pressure on Greentail to release a version and pick a devteam, and pressure on Pingu's Elysium (for lack of a better name for his engine) to release a new version, since we are all now competing. I DO NOT want to rush into releasing a new version, like Pingu did when he released his Debugged engine, and all the bugs that came with it and all the newbies asking 'HOW DO I FIX THIS BUG' with endless topics about the same thing. So, we will wait to release it until a later time, and, don't bug us about it.
Next, some of you claim I haven't been coding anything into Greentail (Ozzy). It's actually the truth. I have been too busy with schoolwork. I told you guys a while back I had added a bunch of things to the engine, but I didn't (WAIT, before you start flaming, you have to keep reading.. ). I only added them to Steel Warrior, but my plans were to add them to Greentail in a day or so, and no one would be the wiser that I had delayed the implementation a bit. However, schoolwork postponed it a day, two days, three days, until it became a week, 2 weeks, and so on. I just haven't gotten around to extracting the code I had so inefficiently commented and programmed into the Steel Warrior source (hence causing difficulty in taking it out of the sourcecode and adding it to Greentail). However, while I have not coded anything into Greentail, I HAVE coded things for Greentail, but are currently stuck in the sloppy mess which is Steel Warrior. I'll get to work on adding them to Greentail this weekend.
Anyway, I think you all deserved to know a little about what is going on inside Greentail. Also, we are about to decide on whether or not a DevTeam should exist (I think it should, since I can't code for two engines at once every day), so keep checking back for news about that and whether or not you want to apply. Note: don't post anything in this topic like 'I want to be in devteam! here's why: ... etc etc'. Just wait until we decide whether or not a DevTeam with actually exist.

Ok to stomp out flaming here are the current anti-flaming rules.
1st warning: 3 day suspension
2nd warning: 7 day suspension
3rd warning: minimum of 30 days.
Anyone caught ban evading will just be permanently banned.
Now what is considered flaming or bashing? Any comments made as a personal attack against a member of these forums. Critisim is allowed just as long as you keep it in a respectable manner.
Unacceptable comments:
"omg your mapping just sucks go blow off"
"Dude just give up"
"You suck"
"I dont like those maps, the mappers just suck"
Acceptable comments:
"Those maps are kind of hideous, you should try not to mix tiles."
"You should maybe hire new mappers"
"I just dont seem to like them"
It really is not that hard to tell whether your attacking someone or just providing feedback. If you happen to mess up its ok as it just means 3 days, your live. These rules go for every member of this community.
*FINAL NOTE*
If someone flames you and you flame back, you risk facing a warning yourself. I am not saying you can't respond back but if you do so in a bashing manner then you are playing with fire. |

After debugging the forums, I found that 1&1 put my SQL files on a slow server of theirs. I quickly made a new database, and transfered all the DB files over.
Now it's nice and fast.

Wow, quite a lot happened yesterday...
Sorry to everyone who downloaded my Asgard Source package, I won't give out the password because I won't leave!
Since so many people downloaded it and asked me for password, I guess you really want it. So be prepared, I am releasing Asgard under the GNU General Public License so you all can use it and it's sourcecode! Have fun with it! Maybe we can build a bigger, better engine upon it?
Well, I decided I will stay, not because of any of the fights here, I hate them. Not because of anyone asking me to. I stay simply because I love programming and developing something you all have a use from! ^-^
So, let's pull together, forget what happened back there and make a cool, fun-to-use engine!
I am here and willing to start work, what about you?

Please be aware that this is the GPL, not Public Domain license. There are some little differences, but all in all it will make life better for all of us. ^-^

I'm going to need the help of each member. Currently, this place has about 50 highly dedicated members, with great understanding of the software, and about 10 newer people. Basicly, we need fresh blood. I'm hoping you guys will help me post around about Elysium. If you do, post a link to your post. Anyone helping me with making ES as big as it once was, will be rewarded, I can't say how or when, but those that help now will get what they deserve.
